Billing & Payment Policy: Dutch vs Split
Billing & Payment Policy: Dutch vs Split
Dutch vs Split:
Split the Bill:
How it works: The final total is added up and divided by the number of people.
Example: If a dinner bill is ₹1,000 for two people, each person pays ₹500.
Best for: Casual outings with close friends or when everyone orders similar amounts of food and drink.
Downside: It can feel unfair if one person ordered an expensive meal and another ordered very little.
Going Dutch
How it works: Everyone calculates their individual share based on their own consumption.
Example: If person A eats a ₹700 pizza and person B eats a ₹300 snack, person A pays ₹700 and person B pays ₹300.
Best for: Large groups, professional dinners, or when people's budgets and orders vary greatly.
Downside: It takes more time to calculate taxes, tips, and individual items at the end of the meal.
Billing & Payment Policy: Local Meetups: Coffee, Clubbing, Restaurants
Bill must be cleared before leaving the Café/Restaurant/Bar.
It is an individual's responsibility to ask and pay.
Everyone must pay their share without any reminder.
If you are leaving early, you must pay double the estimated amount before leaving. Any excess amount paid will be refunded after the final settlement/calculation.
If unable to settle before leaving, one member will make the payment on your behalf.
All members should check the event group and pay immediately.
Settlement responsibility belongs to everyone, not just the organizer or the person making the final payment.
Everyone should actively cooperate in checking, calculating and settling the bill.
No one should have to chase you for payments.
If someone makes the payment on behalf of the group, please acknowledge and thank that person.
A thank-you message should be sent to the organizer and to the member who made the payment on behalf of others.
All members must make their best effort to ensure that the complete bill is settled.
Enjoy the meetup — payment settlement is everyone’s responsibility.
